WarPaths Terms of Service

Effective date: November 5, 2026

Last updated: November 5, 2026

These Terms govern your use of WarPaths and SAGE. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. If something here is unclear, write to admin@warpaths.com and ask.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

WarPaths is operated by Strategy Connections, LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("WarPaths," "we," "us"). Our platform brand is WarPaths; our individual-subscriber product is SAGE, available at sage.warpaths.com.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Strategy Connections, LLC. They cover:

  • individual SAGE accounts (free, paid, and comped);
  • organization accounts, and the people organizations invite to play their scenarios (Section 8 adds terms that apply to organizations);
  • any other part of the service we make available at warpaths.com, sage.warpaths.com, or related subdomains.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

Contact: admin@warpaths.com

2. Eligibility and accounts

Age. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. When you register you are asked to confirm that you are 18 or older; by confirming and by using the service you represent that you are. The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will terminate the account and delete its data.

Accurate information. Register with a working email address and accurate profile information. You are responsible for keeping it current.

One account per person. Each person may hold one SAGE account. Do not create additional or duplicate accounts, and do not create an account on behalf of someone else without their authority.

No account sharing. Your credentials are personal to you. Do not share, sell, transfer, or allow another person to use your account. Organization accounts may have multiple named administrators; each administrator holds their own credentials.

Account security. You are responsible for activity under your account. Choose a strong, unique password. If you believe your account has been accessed without your authorization, contact admin@warpaths.com immediately. Please note: changing your password does not currently end sessions that are already logged in on other devices. If you are concerned that a session is compromised, tell us and we will assist.

Staff accounts. WarPaths staff accounts use @warpaths.com email addresses only. We will never ask you for your password.

3. What SAGE is, and what it is not

SAGE presents AI-generated national-security wargames. You take the role of a policy advisor, weigh counsel from AI advisors, make decisions across a series of turns, and receive an AI-generated evaluation of your strategic reasoning.

You should understand the following before you play:

  • Scenarios are fictional. They may draw on real regions, institutions, historical patterns, and published analysis, but the situations, events, dialogue, and characters presented are invented for the purposes of the exercise. They do not depict actual events, actual statements by real people or governments, or actual intelligence.
  • Nothing here is advice. Scenarios, advisor responses, world-state updates, and evaluations are not professional, legal, military, intelligence, diplomatic, financial, or governmental advice, and must not be relied on as a basis for real-world decisions.
  • No endorsement. The positions taken by in-game advisors, actors, and institutions do not represent the views of WarPaths, Strategy Connections, LLC, or anyone associated with them.
  • Evaluations are judgments about reasoning, generated by AI. They assess the quality and coherence of the reasoning you demonstrated inside a fictional exercise. They are not assessments of your professional competence, your fitness for any role, or your character, and they are not a credential. They can be wrong. Do not represent a SAGE evaluation as a professional assessment or qualification. If you would like a member of our team to review an evaluation you believe is mistaken, contact admin@warpaths.com and a human being will review it; see the Privacy Policy for more on automated processing.
  • AI output varies. Two players making similar decisions may receive different scenario developments or evaluations. We work continuously to improve consistency and quality, but we do not warrant that outputs are accurate, complete, or reproducible.

Integrations. We may offer optional ways to reach parts of the service through third-party AI assistants, for example, a WarPaths tool or plugin usable from within a general-purpose AI assistant such as ChatGPT. Where you choose to use such an integration, your interaction also passes through that third party under its own terms and privacy policy, in addition to ours. These integrations are optional; you are never required to use one to use SAGE.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Plans. Paid plans are billed monthly and include a set number of games per billing period:

PlanPriceGames per month
Standard$19 / month6
Premium$27 / month10

A limited free tier is available. Game quotas reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over unless we say otherwise.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Your relationship with Stripe is governed by Stripe's own terms.

Taxes. Prices are exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise. Where we are required to collect sales tax, VAT, or GST, we will collect and remit it as required by law, based on your billing location.

Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically each month at the then-current price until cancelled.

Price changes. We may change prices. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a change takes effect for your subscription, and you may cancel before it does.

Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing admin@warpaths.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep access, and your remaining game quota, until then.

Refunds. Except where required by law or stated in Section 5, we do not refund partial billing periods. If you believe you were charged in error, or the service failed materially and we could not resolve it, write to admin@warpaths.com; we handle these case by case and in good faith.

Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend access until payment succeeds. We will attempt to notify you before suspending.

5. EU and UK consumers: right of withdrawal

This section applies only if you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the United Kingdom, subscribing for your own use. It does not apply to organization accounts contracting as a business, and it does not limit any other rights you have under the law of your country.

You have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. To withdraw, send a clear statement to admin@warpaths.com before the 14 days expire. You may use the model withdrawal form provided under applicable law, but you are not required to.

Withdrawing online. If you are in the EU, you can also withdraw at any time during the withdrawal period using the withdrawal function at sage.warpaths.com/withdraw. The email route above is available to consumers in both the EU and the UK.

Immediate access. Our service is supplied digitally and is available to you as soon as you subscribe. When you subscribe, we will ask you to expressly consent to our beginning performance immediately and to acknowledge the effect of that consent on your right of withdrawal. By subscribing and beginning to use the service within the withdrawal period, you expressly request that we begin performance immediately, and you acknowledge that:

  • if you withdraw after we have begun performance at your request, you must pay an amount proportionate to the service supplied up to the point you told us you were withdrawing, calculated as set out below; and
  • once the subscription period you have paid for has been fully performed, the right of withdrawal no longer applies to that period.

What you pay if you withdraw. Your plan includes a set number of games per billing period (Section 4). If you withdraw, you pay for the games you have started, because starting a game is receiving it, at your plan's per-game share of the fee. That share is the plan's price divided by the games it includes, rounded down:

PlanGames per periodPer-game share
Standard ($19 / month)6$3.16
Premium ($27 / month)10$2.70

So the amount you pay is the number of games you started multiplied by that share, and never more than the fee for that period. If you started no games, you pay nothing and we refund the fee in full. If you started every game your plan includes, the deduction is the value of all of them: on Premium that is the whole fee, and on Standard it leaves $0.04 to refund. We charge no withdrawal fee, administration fee, or processing charge of any kind: the only deduction is the value of the games you started.

We will refund any remaining amount within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notice, using the same payment method you used originally.

6. Free, comped, and trial accounts

Free-tier, comped, promotional, and invited-cohort accounts are provided at our discretion. They may be limited, modified, suspended, or withdrawn at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. Comped accounts are implemented as zero-amount subscriptions and may be converted to paid plans on notice; you will always be told before any charge is made, and you may cancel first.

7. Fair play and the leaderboard

The SAGE leaderboard exists to make comparison meaningful. Meaningful comparison requires that everyone plays the same way.

  • First run only. Only your first play of a given scenario is scored. Replays are welcome, and are useful for learning, but they do not affect leaderboard standing.
  • Eight-week eligibility window. Leaderboard eligibility is calculated over a rolling 8-week window, with more recent games weighted more heavily.
  • No multi-accounting. Creating additional accounts to attempt a scenario more than once, to scout scenario content before a scored run, or to inflate standing, is prohibited.
  • No automation or assistance designed to defeat the exercise. Do not use scripts, bots, or shared answer banks to produce or coordinate submissions.
  • Consequences. Where we determine in good faith that these rules have been broken, we may remove scores, reset standings, restrict leaderboard eligibility, suspend, or terminate the accounts involved. These decisions are made by a person, not solely by automated means. Where practical, we will tell you what we found and give you a chance to respond.

Your display name and leaderboard standing are visible to other users of the service.

Optional identity sharing. By default you are pseudonymous to other users: they see your chosen display name and leaderboard standing, nothing more. If you enable the optional identity-sharing feature, your real name, any professional profile link you choose to add (for example, a LinkedIn profile), and game highlights you select become visible to other users for as long as the feature is enabled. The feature is off by default, operates only at your election, and can be turned off at any time in your account settings, after which that information is no longer displayed to other users. If you enable it, share only your own name and professional information; impersonation and misrepresentation of affiliation remain prohibited under Section 9. You are responsible for the accuracy of the name, professional details, and links you choose to share, and for keeping them current. We do not verify professional information that users elect to share, we make no representation about its accuracy, and we are not responsible for another user's reliance on it. Information that was visible while the feature was enabled may have been seen by other users during that time; turning the feature off ends the display going forward but cannot retract what others have already viewed.

Scoring methodology, weighting, and eligibility rules may change; see Section 12.

8. Organization accounts

This section applies to organizations (think tanks, research institutions, educational programs, and similar) that hold organization accounts, and to their administrators.

Provisioning and trials. Organization accounts are provisioned manually by us. Initial organization accounts are no-charge trials. Trials are provided at our discretion, carry no service-level commitment, and may be modified, suspended, or ended at any time.

Data protection roles. For personal data relating to participants, including their accounts, gameplay content, and evaluations, Strategy Connections, LLC acts as an independent controller, not as a processor on your organization's behalf. Organization invitations operate through anonymous invite links: your organization generates a capped, expiring invite link (valid for thirty (30) days) and distributes it through channels of its own choosing. We do not receive, and do not hold, the name, email address, or any other identifying information of a prospective participant from your organization, unless and until that person chooses to register an account, at which point that person becomes an account holder governed by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy in the ordinary course. When a prospective participant follows an invite link, our standard web server logs (IP address and similar technical data, described in the Privacy Policy) may be recorded in the same way as for any visitor to our site; that ordinary logging is unrelated to, and does not depend on, the invitation itself, and is not identifying information supplied by your organization. If your organization identifies or contacts prospective participants in the course of distributing an invite link (for example, by emailing the link to named individuals), that activity is your organization's own processing of personal data, carried out under your organization's own privacy notices and applicable law; we are not a party to that processing and receive no personal data from it. The only contact information we hold in connection with organizational onboarding is your organization's own administrator email addresses, which are organization account data governed by these Terms. An invite link itself contains no personal data relating to any prospective participant, and when a link expires or reaches its registration cap, no invitee-identifying data supplied by your organization exists in our systems to retain or delete.

Authoring workflow. An organization administrator uploads a report; our AI extracts material from it and generates a draft scenario; the organization edits, quality-controls, and publishes that scenario itself. We do not review or approve an organization's scenario before publication to its own invited audience. The organization is responsible for the accuracy, quality, and appropriateness of what it publishes. Separate review applies to any scenario an organization asks us to include in the public catalogue.

Your report, your responsibility. By uploading a report you represent and warrant that you own it or have all rights and permissions necessary to upload it, to have it processed as described in our Privacy Policy, and to have brief cited excerpts from it appear in the resulting scenario. You must not upload:

  • classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), export-controlled technical data, or any material subject to a government handling restriction;
  • material subject to a non-disclosure obligation you cannot satisfy;
  • personal data about third parties beyond what is necessary and lawful.

What happens to the report. We do not store your report. Processing is in memory, and we keep no copy of the file after extraction completes. The AI provider that performs the extraction, OpenAI, does not use your report to train its models and does not retain its processing copy beyond a limited abuse-monitoring window (currently up to 30 days), as described in the Privacy Policy. No other AI provider receives your report. We keep a content fingerprint for de-duplication, and a bounded set of short, page-referenced verbatim excerpts inside the extraction so your authors can verify our reading against your source. This is described in full in the Privacy Policy.

Participants. People you invite receive real, persistent SAGE accounts that belong to them. They keep those accounts, and the gameplay records in them, whether or not your organization continues with us. Your organization does not control, and cannot delete, a participant's account.

What you see about participants. Your organization receives aggregate insights about performance across your games. A participant's individual evaluation belongs to the participant, and, except in a classroom or training game as described below, we do not disclose it to you. Do not attempt to obtain individual evaluations by circumventing this, and do not require a participant to disclose their individual evaluation to your organization as a condition of participation, employment, enrollment, or standing, other than the disclosure a classroom or training game run by an instructional organization makes with the participant's acknowledgment before they join, as our Privacy Policy (Section 7) describes.

When a trial ends. If your trial ends without converting to a paid plan, your organization's scenarios, drafts, and associated organization data remain intact and inaccessible-but-preserved for 60 days, then are permanently deleted. Establishing payment at any point during those 60 days preserves everything your organization has created. After deletion, the material cannot be recovered.

No export. The platform does not provide a facility to export scenarios, drafts, extraction output, or aggregate insight data. Plan accordingly. (This does not affect an individual's right to request a copy of their own personal data; see the Privacy Policy.)

Administrator conduct. Organization administrators are bound by these Terms, including Section 9, and by any additional written agreement between us. Your organization is responsible for its administrators' actions.

9. Acceptable use

Do not:

  • copy, scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically retrieve scenario content, advisor responses, evaluations, or any other part of the service, by automated means or otherwise;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the prompts, models, scoring logic, or engine behind the service, or attempt to induce the system to disclose them;
  • extract scenario content for republication, redistribution, resale, or use in training or evaluating any other system;
  • attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, authentication, or access controls, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
  • harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other users, organizations, or our staff, including through in-game submissions;
  • impersonate any person, organization, or government body, or misrepresent your affiliation;
  • submit classified information, Controlled Unclassified Information, export-controlled technical data, or any other material subject to a government handling restriction. SAGE is an unclassified commercial service processed by third-party AI providers. Treat it accordingly;
  • submit malware, or content that is unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • use the service in violation of applicable sanctions, export control, or anti-corruption laws;
  • use the service to plan or facilitate real-world harm.

If you find a security vulnerability, please report it to admin@warpaths.com rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue good-faith researchers who report promptly, avoid privacy violations and service degradation, and give us reasonable time to fix the issue.

10. Intellectual property

10.1 Our content

The platform, meaning the game engine, scenario library we author, advisor and evaluation systems, strategic-action taxonomy, interface, design, documentation, trademarks, and all associated software, is owned by Strategy Connections, LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use it for its intended purpose while your account is active. Nothing else is granted.

You may quote or discuss your own game experience publicly, including your evaluation, for commentary, teaching, research, or professional discussion. You may not republish scenario content wholesale.

10.2 Your submissions

You keep ownership of what you write. The decisions, responses, and reasoning you submit during play remain yours.

You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, reproduce, adapt, and transmit your submissions as necessary to operate the service, including sending them to our AI providers to run the game and generate your evaluation, and, as described in the Privacy Policy, to retain them in de-identified form for research and product improvement after your account is deleted. This retention licence survives termination of your account and applies only to de-identified records. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction that grants you a right of erasure, you may instead ask us to delete your gameplay records entirely, as described in Section 11 of the Privacy Policy, and this licence does not limit that right.

10.3 Organization reports and generated scenarios

The report is yours. An organization's uploaded report, and all copyright in it, remains with the organization or its licensors. We claim no ownership of it and, as described above, do not retain it.

The scenario is a new work. A generated scenario is an original work, created at your direction, informed by the facts, events, ideas, analytical claims, and subject matter found in the source report, together with a bounded set of short verbatim excerpts, quoted with page references and attributed to the source, in the manner of citations in a published paper. Copyright protects expression, not facts or ideas. We do not treat a generated scenario as an adaptation of the source report, and nothing in these Terms should be read as a claim to any right in a source report beyond the limited quotation described.

No subject-matter exclusivity. We do not grant any organization exclusivity over a report, a topic, a region, or a scenario premise. Another organization may create its own scenario from the same publicly available report or the same subject matter, and we will not prevent it from doing so. Each organization remains responsible for its own warranty under Section 8.

Allocation of rights in scenario content. The organization owns the scenario content it authors, edits, and publishes. The organization grants Strategy Connections, LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting and delivery, display, and run that scenario as part of the service, including to invited participants and, only with the organization's separate consent, in the public catalogue. This licence lasts as long as the scenario is hosted, and survives to the extent necessary to retain gameplay records already created from it. The platform layer generated during play, meaning advisor responses, world-state updates, evaluations, and scoring, is ours under Section 10.1.

10.4 Feedback

If you send us suggestions, we may use them freely and without obligation to you.

11. Copyright complaints

We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Our designated agent to receive notices is registered in the U.S. Copyright Office's DMCA Designated Agent Directory.

Designated agent: Copyright Agent, Strategy Connections, LLC
130 Corridor Rd Unit #512, Ponte Vedra, FL 32004
admin@warpaths.com

A valid notice must include: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work claimed to be infringed; identification of the material claimed to be infringing and enough information for us to locate it; your contact information; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.

We will remove or disable access to material we determine in good faith to be infringing, notify the user who posted it, and give them an opportunity to submit a counter-notice. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Misrepresentations in a notice or counter-notice may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

12. Changes to the service, and the launch period

We may add, change, or remove features. Where a change materially reduces what your paid plan provides, we will give you reasonable notice by email and you may cancel.

Launch period. During our initial launch period, the service is under active development. In particular: scoring methodology, weighting, eligibility rules, and leaderboard standings may be adjusted, recalculated, or reset; game quotas and tier contents may change; features may be added or withdrawn; and comped, trial, and invited-cohort access may be revoked. We will not do this arbitrarily or without telling you, but you should not treat leaderboard standing during the launch period as permanent.

13. Suspension and termination

By you. Cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. To delete your account, email admin@warpaths.com from the address on your account (or otherwise allow us to verify the request), and we will delete it. Deletion is permanent: your email address is blocked from further use, your identifying information is removed, and login is permanently disabled. Your gameplay records are retained in de-identified form as described in Section 10.2 and the Privacy Policy, unless you are entitled to and request their full deletion under Section 11 of the Privacy Policy. We will send you a confirmation email. This cannot be undone, and your account cannot be restored.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, if your use creates legal risk or harm to others or to the service, or if we are required to by law. Where the circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you an opportunity to put it right.

On termination. Your licence to use the service ends. Sections 3, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 survive. If we terminate a paid account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of your current billing period.

14. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that AI-generated content will be accurate, consistent, unbiased, or complete, or that evaluations will be reliable measures of anything outside the exercise.

Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, however caused.
  • Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and, for consumers in the EU and UK, any liability that mandatory law does not permit us to exclude.

16. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold harmless Strategy Connections, LLC and its members, officers, and personnel from claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms; your misuse of the service; content you submit; and, for organizations, any report you upload or scenario you publish, including claims that the report infringed a third party's rights or was uploaded without authority.

This does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own breach or negligence, and does not apply to consumers where applicable law prohibits it.

17. Governing law and disputes

Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

Venue. You and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Florida, and each of us waives any objection to that venue. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead, if it qualifies.

Jury and class waiver. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you and we each waive any right to a jury trial, and agree that claims may be brought only in an individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding.

Consumers in the EU and UK. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Where those rules conflict with the paragraphs above, those rules prevail for you.

Informal resolution first. Before filing anything, please email admin@warpaths.com with a description of the dispute. Most things can be sorted out in a week.

18. General

Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us regarding the service, and supersede prior discussions. Where we have signed a separate written agreement with an organization, that agreement controls to the extent of any conflict.

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in-product at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, cancel and delete your account.

Severability. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force.

No waiver. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.

Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice to you.

Force majeure. Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control.

Notices. We will send notices to the email address on your account; keep it current. Send notices to us at admin@warpaths.com.
